Hellweg: Central grinding – simple, fast, quiet

Hellweg Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG (www.schneidmuehlen.de) is presenting its 260 series of granulators at Fakuma 2006. The granulators are used in plastics processing companies for central grinding of all kinds of surplus production. On account of very good heat conductivity, these granulators can also easily granulate materials with high feed product temperatures.

The angled cut rotors enable very good feeding of the machines, that can be fitted with different rotors after each use: with an open rotor mainly for film granulation, with a closed 3-blade rotor for granulation of sprues and other small or light parts, as well as with a closed 5-blade rotor for granulation of sheets, moulded parts, bottles, canisters and other hollow items, or fitted with additional filling segments for the granulation of start-up lumps, etc.

The compact construction of the 260 series granulators enables material to be introduced in a user-friendly manner from low height. Extraction equipment with cyclones and fittings for bags are integrated within the machines, as may also be conveyor belt feeding, as an option. Full noise protection with noise insulated feeding hoppers is also offered as an option, enabling very quiet operation at below 75 dB.

The drive power amounts to 5.5 kW to 7.5 kW. The machines can be very easily opened due to the use of gas pressure suspension. The total weight is approx. 1,180 kg, so that it a mobile version is possible through mounting of roller casters.
