The still connected foils, coming from a roll, are passed through 2 sheets, at the rear edge of which they are separated from each other. The separation occurs because the foils are pulled in different directions. The protective film and the carrier film are rolled up on spindles via slip clutches and later disposed of. The useful film runs through a pair of silicone-coated pressure rollers and then through various deflections and a dancer, who coordinates the laminator with the cutter, into the cutter.

The machine can also be used as a cross cutter for rolled goods to produce sheets from rolled goods.
