Ferro Europe: Masterbatch prolongs lifetime of articles made using recycled polymers

With the recycling of plastics now being a well established part of the industry and with targets being set by the EU for recycling of packaging, Ferro Europe (Speciality Plastics, Liquid Coating, Polymer Additives, APA, www.ferro.com) has developed EFEX® DUR-A-PACK masterbatches to prolong the lifetime of finished articles made using recycled polymer. Depending on the quality, use of up to 100 % regrind is possible with re-stabilisation of the material by the addition of EFEX® DUR-A-PACK additive concentrate.

Re-colouring of recycled polymer is often needed to overcome fading of the original colour or to allow the use of regrind from various sources. EFEX® DUR-A-PACK masterbatches can be provided with a combination of colourants and additives to achieve colour adjustment and re-stabilisation in one addition.
