Engel: Cooperation with Mitsubishi

ENGEL and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Plastic Technology Co., Ldt. (MHI-PT) have made a cooperation agreement concerning the marketing of large-scale ENGEL multi-component injection moulding machines for Japanese customers. The purpose is to distribute ENGEL duo combi-machines with clamping forces 1.000 tons and lower jointly under the brand name “Mitsubishi-ENGEL”.

Within the cooperation it will be made use of the sales- and service network of Mitsubishi – one of the leading Japanese injection moulding machine manufacturers. Additionally MHI-PT assumes the project planning and spare part supply for the machines. This agreement should cover new application areas – such as glazing – especially for the automotive industry. “With Mitsubishi-ENGEL duo combi machines we are now able to cover a – for Japanese customers – particularly interesting market segment”, says Toshiya Sato, Presidet of MHI-PT. “As world market leader – also for multi component machines – we offer the customers of Mitsubishi a sophisticated and future-oriented machine solution”, says Dr. Peter Neumann, CEO of the ENGEL Group.
