DuPont raises prices for engineering polymers

DuPont Engineering Polymers (www.dupont.com) announced additional price increases effective Jan.1, 2005 in Europe, Middle East & Africa for the following products:

• DuPont™ Zytel® nylon and DuPont™ Minlon® products will increase by a minimum of 0,25 €/kg
• DuPont™ Crastin® PBT products will increase by a minimum of 0,15 €/kg

• DuPont™ Delrin® acetal products will increase by a minimum of 0,15 €/kg.
• DuPont™ Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer products will increase by a minimum of 0,15 €/kg
• DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high performance polyamide, DuPont™ Zenite® LCP, DuPont™ Rynite® PET, and DuPont™ Thermx® high performance polyester products will increase by a minimum of
0,20 €/kg.
• Specialty grades and colours in all product families will in certain cases increase by a larger amount. Prices for small shipment sizes will also increase further.

According to DuPont these increases are in addition to those announced earlier this year and are in response to further steep rises in costs for energy and raw materials and to secure supply and services at the level customers expect. DuPont continuously strives to offset escalating costs with
productivity programs and other containment measures, however the magnitude of these continuing rises in costs coupled with strong demand make these price increases unavoidable.
