Krahn Chemie expands portfolio to include carbon fibers from Toho Tenax Europe

Distributor Krahn Chemie GmbH, based in Hamburg, will begin marketing chopped and milled carbon fibers from Toho Tenax Europe GmbH throughout Europe effective immediately. The Tenax® products feature high strength and tensile modulus at low density. The short fibers are primarily used in thermoplastic resins, where they enhance electrical conductivity and mechanical performance.

Tenax® chopped fibers are available in various finishes in cut lengths of 3 to 25 mm. The milled fibers are supplied as fine powder without any preparation and are especially suitable as an additive to be mixed into a broad variety of materials. The main use of Tenax® short fibers is in technical plastics, such as ABS, SAN, PA 6, PA 66, PA 12, PBT, and POM, and high-temperature thermoplastic resins such as PEEK, PPA, PES, PEI, and POM. In addition to the thermoplastic resins, the variety of different finishes supplied also means that these fibers can be used in fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastics and in water-based processes.
