In time for the K 2010 in Dusseldorf in October, the RAL gGmbH is presenting a new colour range for plastics together with the Gabriel-Chemie Group. With this independent plastic standard, RAL is reacting to the versatile demands from the plastics processing industry. The Gabriel-Chemie Group is responsible for the technical implementation of the RAL colour standards in this project. The RAL colour samples for plastics will be on show for the first time at the Gabriel-Chemie trade fair booth (Hall 5, Booth B 48) from 27 October to 3 November. RAL PLASTICS initially covers the 100 most frequently demanded colours from the RAL CLASSIC colour collection, which is the most frequently used collection in industry. The colour scale is to be extended in the following years according to market research up to initially 200 colours. The plastic standards from the RAL PLASTICS collection are made of 3 mm thick polypropylene. Alongside the smooth main field, there are two further fields on the standard with different surface textures as well as two graduations of 2 mm and 1mm in thickness. This multi-functionality offers the user a realistic impression of the colour effect with different material thicknesses. As a prelude, the two companies will hold a joint press conference on 27th October 2010 at 11 am. This will take place in room 16 of the Congress Centre at the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre and will be open to journalists and interested trade fair visitors.
