WITTMANN (www.wittmann-robot.com) has introduced the servo robot series W 711 C DS specifically designed for the fast removal of plastic parts from both stack molds and 2-plate single face molds. Mechanically this robot is based on the general platform of the economically priced W 711 series with a fixed kick-stroke frame. However, unlike the standard robots of the line, this model is equipped with a second, completely independent functioning vertical axis driven by servo drives. Series W 711 C DS robots are available with horizontal strokes of either 1,500 mm or 2,000 mm. Both vertical axes can be supplied with either 800 mm or 1,000 mm of length and a maximum payload of 5 kg per vertical arm, making then ideally suited to molding machines up to approximately 250 tons of clamping force. In order to minimize mold opening, both arms are equipped with a very compact, self-locking part swivel axis, which is also used on the standard W 711 robots. The vertical axes were developed for highly dynamic operation and each consists of a thin-walled, rib-reinforced profile, which combine excellent stiffness and lightweight construction. This results in the fastest vibration-free removal motions and guarantees the highest productivity on the molding machine. Like other 7-Series robots from WITTMANN, W 711 C DS robots offer numerous outstanding features including the use of state-of-the-art compact servo modules integrated on the robot itself, eliminating the need for an external control cabinet. The integrated control cabinet is mounted behind the horizontal axis for space savings and allows electrical connection of external I/O-modules via a bus cable for the direct control of all attached peripheral equipment. W 711 C DS robots are equipped as a standard with 5 servo drives for extremely short part removal times. As an option, an additional motor driven rotational B-axis can be added for the placement of parts with the same orientation from different mold halves. All W 711 C DS robots are equipped as standard with the flexible and freely programmable CNC 6.2 control system that can be upgraded to the R7-TouchScreen control for maximum programming flexibility. The choice of control systems is already well proven for the 6-Series and 7-Series robots and offers unlimited user programming flexibility. Because of consistent use of the same control platform across all WITTMANN robot lines no additional training is necessary and pre-existing programs can be used as templates for new sequences. |
