Die Rieter Automatik GmbH (www.rieter.com) will present at the Fakuma its underwater pelletizing system SPHERO® 70 with fluid heated die plate, along with its new centrifugal dryer, the CENTRO 150. Highlight of the exhibit will be the innovative belt dryer DURO (Photo), which will be introduced to the European public for the first time. DURO 500 - Gentle drying of sensitive pellets at high profitability Rieter´s new dryer series DURO is the world´s first machine of this type on the market. The simple and unique machine has been designed for abrasive, brittle or sensitive products. It can be used with either the SPHERO® pelletizing system or the USG strand pelletizing system. Developed primarily for difficult compounds, for example glass-fiber reinforced or highly filled materials, it achieves residual moisture levels of less than 0.1 %. With few moving parts, the DURO suffers almost no wear and thus affords considerable cost savings. Frequent product changes are possible due to very easy and quick cleaning options. Best of all, the DURO can be retrofitted into existing pelletizing systems. The advantages of the belt dryer at a glance: SPHERO® 70 for highest flexibility during underwater pelletizing The underwater pelletizing system SPHERO® 70 is especially designed for use in compounding, recycling and masterbatch applications. The unique knife head design and optimum flow conditions within the cutting chamber provide outstanding pellet quality. An innovative design feature of the SPHERO® is the main drive motor, which permits axial movement of the motor shaft that enables regrinding of the knife edges during production. This allows higher equipment availability and thus saves costs. A further highlight of the SPHERO® line, in particular for processing technical thermoplastics such as PET or PA, is the liquid-heated die plate. The design of the die plate as well as the arrangement of heating pipes and valves assure a simple, rapid exchange. Compared with conventional, electrically heated die plates the new design produces pellets with consistently narrow size distribution, a feature heretofore not attained. SPHERO® 30 live in production! During the Fakuma show Rieter´s smallest underwater pelletizing system - the SPHERO® 30 - will be shown in production at booth 6318 of Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer. CENTRO 150 - Efficient drying process with low operating cost The new centrifugal dryers are used for drying and de-watering of plastic pellets, reaching throughputs up to 22,000 kg/h. The CENTRO series is developed for underwater pelletizing as well as for underwater strand pelletizing and can even be used for drying micro pellets. Rugged wear-resistant materials combined with a smart rotor assembly optimize drying and decrease energy consumption - up to 40% less, compared to other dryer designs! The CENTRO´s small footprint is a result of extremely compact construction and the design further utilizes a clever solution to disassemble the rotor through the opening of the dryer door, all of which makes the CENTRO the centrifugal dryer of choice. Further product highlights are: The exhibit shows the main component CENTRO 150 assembled with all relevant components to the process water system PWS, ready for operation.
