TSM Control Systems (www.tsm-controls.com) has added even more unique features to the TSM1000 gravimetric batch blender (photo). This blender model, which can handle up to 1000kg/hr, has been redesigned to work with even the most difficult regrind. TSM understands the problems facing many customers with such material, and has brought to market just the right solution to handle this problem. This latest feature improves material valve and flow characteristics, which, to the customer, means higher percentage Regrind dosing with the corresponding elimination of material blockage. The TSM Blender mixing chamber with the patented positive displacement screw guarantees homogenous mixing independent of percentage settings or material density, with no separation of materials. There is also consistent head pressure on the material caused by a downward force from the mixing auger rotation. Blend accuracies of +/-0.1% of batch size for “micra-dosing” can be achieved, which, when combined with its other benefits offers a rapid return on investment. Other benefits include quick cleaning features combined with the ability to store up to 60 pre-programmed recipes to ensure rapid job changes, and there is no double dosing of additives with regrind material. TSM Control Systems gravimetric batch blenders can be supplied with integrated extrusion control. The blender is mounted directly on the extruder feedthroat, eliminating the need for an additional reservoir hopper and reducing overall height requirements.
