Hosokawa Alpine: Granulator for PVC window profiles up to 7 m length

Hosokawa Alpine (www.alpinehosokawa.com) will show the new 45/71 PM Profile Granulator (photo), which was specially developed for the manufacturers of PVC window profiles for in-house recycling. The new granulator is the heart of a complete system designed to comminute mitre sections, small parts and reject profiles up to a length of 7 m. The machine is driven by a 55-kW motor. It is equipped with 8 rows of rotor knives of 450 mm in diameter and 710 mm in width arranged in a V-formation and 3 rows of stator knives. The size and shape of the screen perforations are selected to suit the problem specification in hand.

Dependent on the individual application, the system is equipped with feed chute and inclined conveyor belt as well as a suction tank for the pneumatic product discharge. The feed unit is available as a stationary unit and also as a mobile unit mounted on a mobile installation frame.

Thanks to the comfortable electrohydraulic system, with which the machine can be opened wide for cleaning and maintenance, as well as the tamperproof and sound-insulated feed chute, the machine is extremely user-friendly and quiet in operation.

After product comminution with the granulator, subsequent process steps are frequently necessary, for which Hosokawa Alpine offers tried-and-tested solutions.

• For example, special air classification systems for dedusting the end product or for separating the protective layer of film commonly applied to profile bars. To reduce the amount of manual handling, the film is left on and is comminuted together with the profile.

• Or granulators for comminuting feed materials to particle sizes – dependent on the problem specification – ranging from 500 to 1200 µm. Alpine AFS Fine Cutting Mills ensure gentle comminution at low temperatures to make sure the product suffers no thermal or visual damage. Specially coated grinding discs permit long comminution cycles at high throughputs. As the specialist for such recycling processes, Alpine naturally offers the complete solution from one single source.
