The French packaging manufacturer Axium Packaging is strengthening its position in Italy with the acquisition of the industry company Silte. In a press release, Axium recently announced the signing of a corresponding agreement. However, the financial volume and further details of the deal were not disclosed. Silte is based in Budrio near Bologna and primarily produces plastic containers for cosmetics and care products. The company processes polyethylene (HDPE, LDPE), polypropylene (PP) and PET using extrusion blow moulding and blow moulding processes. Founded in 1970, the company employs 25 people and has an annual turnover of around 7.5 million Euros. With Silte, Axium Packaging is acquiring its first production site in Italy. According to the press release, the acquisition will also enable the group to expand its range of customised and stand-up packaging. The Axium Group develops and produces rigid plastic packaging such as bottles, cans and jars as well as closures for food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and household chemicals. The main materials processed are PET, rPET, polyethylene (HDPE, LDPE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC) and ABS. Axium has its headquarters in Saint-Étienne and, with its subsidiaries ActiPack, Loire Plastic, Lapac and KKT Kaller Kunststoff Technik, currently has three plants in France and one production site each in Germany and the Czech Republic. According to the latest press release, the group's annual turnover is just under 80 million Euros. The German company KKT, based in Kall near Euskirchen, has been part of Axium since 2016.
