The Austrian packaging manufacturer Rattpack has strengthened its position with the takeover of the industry company Giko Verpackungen. In a recent press release, Rattpack announced the successful integration of Giko into the group of companies without going into the financial volume and further details of the takeover. Giko is headquartered in Weiler in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg and has a second production site in Diepoldsau in the neighbouring Swiss canton of St. Gallen. The company produces flexible packaging materials, primarily lidding films, tubular bag films, clip films and wax wrappers. With 85 employees, Giko generated sales of around 25 million euros in the 2022 financial year. According to the press release, Rattpack expects the takeover to result in "an even broader and more innovative range of packaging solutions". The two Giko sites will continue to operate "as an integral part of the Rattpack family". The Rattpack Group is also headquartered in Wolfurt in Vorarlberg, with additional production sites in neighbouring Dornbirn and Vienna, as well as in Apolda in Thuringia and Buch near Ulm in Germany. The company's product range includes cardboard packaging, flexible packaging, folding cartons, inserts, outserts, displays, skin and blister cards as well as wet-glue labels, plastics, paper and aluminium are processed.
