Maag Group: Acquisition of Sikora AG

The Maag Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sikora AG, a recognised market leader in measurement and control technology. According to a press release, this acquisition will accelerate Maag's innovation capabilities in the areas of machine learning, industrial IoT and AI-driven technologies. Financial details were not disclosed.

Sikora, headquartered in Bremen, Germany, is considered one of the market leaders for measurement and control systems in various application areas such as cable, pipe and plastics production. From non-contact measurement control to automatic sorting systems, Sikora continuously develops solutions and invests heavily in research and development.

With integrated systems for the polymer and recycling industries, Maag is continuously expanding its expertise to cover a broader range of applications and processes. Together, Maag and Sikora want to open up new opportunities for the development of intelligent, self-controlling and energy-efficient systems.

Harald Sikora, Managing Director of Sikora Holding GmbH & Co. KG, founded Sikora in 1973. The company now employs around 450 people in Bremen and has 13 international subsidiaries.

In the new constellation, company founder Harald Sikora will remain associated with Sikora AG in an advisory capacity. The long-standing member of the Sikora AG Executive Board will continue to be responsible for the company's growth story in the future.

CEO Dr Christian Frank has been a member of the Sikora Executive Board for twelve years and has been its Chairman since 2015. He holds a doctorate in industrial engineering and has proven management expertise in the aerospace and mechanical engineering industries.

Executive Board member Holger Lieder has been with Sikora for 21 years in sales and took over the position of Director of Sales in 2010 with responsibility for global sales. In 2023, he was appointed to the Executive Board of Sikora AG.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
