The Swedish plastics processor KB Components AB has acquired the Ernst Plastics Group, based in southern Germany. The acquired corporate group includes the three operating companies Schliessmeyer GmbH, Spectrum GmbH Kunststofftechnik, and Spritzgussa GmbH & Co. KG. Together, they employ 126 people and operate more than 50 injection molding machines. With this acquisition, KB Components aims to expand its European market presence, consolidate production capacities, and strengthen customer relationships in the fields of automotive, filtration technology, and consumer goods. The integration of the Ernst Plastics Group is intended to create synergies between the sites and optimize the utilization of production capacities. Founded in 1962, the company operates sites in Zweibrücken, Wannweil, and Lichtenau. Its customers include renowned companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Mann+Hummel, John Deere, Beiersdorf, and Mars. In 2024, the company generated sales of approximately 13.7 million euros. According to Magnus Andersson, President and CEO of KB Components AB, the acquisition represents “an important step in strengthening our European presence and expanding our customer portfolio in key market segments.” Founded in 1947, KB Components is now an international manufacturer of plastic components with production facilities in Europe, North and Central America, and Asia. The company supplies over 1,000 customers in the automotive, medical technology, and general industry sectors.
