MKV Kunststoffgranulate: Establishment of a U.S. Subsidiary

MKV GmbH Kunststoffgranulate (MKV), based in Beselich-Obertiefenbach near Limburg, Germany, is expanding its international presence and will establish a subsidiary in the United States on January 1, 2026. The new company will be called MKV Polymers Inc. and will be headquartered in Akron, Ohio.

Initially, the U.S. branch will operate as a sales office, serving the entire North American market. In the medium to long term, the company plans to set up its own production facility. This move comes in response to growing demand for “Zia” brand compounds in North America.

According to the company, the U.S. market will be supplied with locally produced materials from the outset. Production will initially take place in cooperation with partner companies, eliminating customs-related issues. MKV also intends to serve the Canadian market in the future. Deliveries will be made from Germany via a local warehouse, made possible through the CETA free trade agreement.

The decision to establish a U.S. subsidiary is part of a long-term strategy. MKV cites continuous sales growth, increasing customer interest in “Zia” compounds, and the desire for shorter delivery times, greater flexibility, and improved planning reliability as key factors behind this step.
