Meraxis: Christophe Cario takes over management of Fournier Polymers

The Meraxis Group has appointed Christophe Cario as Managing Director of its subsidiary Fournier Polymers. Cario took over the role on January 1, 2026, and thus heads the distributor, which has been part of the Meraxis Group since 2023. Fournier Polymers operates in Europe and North Africa as a distributor of standard and technical polymers as well as additives.

With this appointment, Meraxis aims to strengthen the leadership structure at Fournier Polymers and continue the expansion of activities in the European and North African markets. The goal is to further develop the existing portfolio, particularly in the area of technical polymers, and to expand the group's position along the plastics value chain.

Christophe Cario has more than 20 years of experience in international polymer and chemical distribution. Most recently, he served as Managing Director France and North Africa at the Biesterfeld Group, where he was responsible for business development in Europe and North Africa. Previously, he held various leadership positions at A. Schulman, now part of LyondellBasell, including EMEA Head of Sales and Marketing Specialty Powders as well as Technical Polymers Distribution Manager EMEA. His professional focus lies in strategic market development and building international sales teams. Cario holds a Master of Science in Polymer Sciences from the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne and a Management Master from the Montpellier Business School.

Cario succeeds Emmanuel Tarret as Managing Director, who is Chief Operating Officer of Fournier Polymers and had previously also held the management position. In the future, Cario will report directly to Tarret. With this personnel decision, Meraxis emphasizes the strategic further development of the group following the acquisition of Fournier Polymers and the integration of the compounding plant in Velen.
