Weiss Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH & Co. KG closed the 2025 financial year with a positive result despite a difficult market environment. In response to declining call-offs and postponed new projects, the company reacted early with adjusted investment planning and personnel measures. Revenue decreased in the single-digit percentage range, and the capacity utilization of the plants in Illertissen and Györ (Hungary) fell accordingly. A slowdown in demand had already become apparent starting in the second half of 2024. Consequently, Weiss introduced short-time work for several months and adjusted its investments. When no short-term recovery was in sight, termination agreements were signed with individual employees in coordination with the works council, and short-time work was ended. The workforce was thus aligned with current order volumes, while capacity was maintained for new projects scheduled to launch in 2026. Management is cautiously optimistic for the current year. Although the company does not expect a fundamental economic recovery, new projects from various customer industries are intended to partially compensate for declining call-offs. In addition to the automotive industry, including electromobility, these sectors include intralogistics and special vehicle construction. In some cases, long-term contracts were signed that include assembly services and the delivery of complete functional assemblies in addition to injection molding. The combination of an in-house tool shop and production at two locations is proving to be an advantage. The Györ plant, founded in 2011, contributed significantly to the company's performance in 2025 and did not record a decline in revenue. In total, approximately 260 employees produce around 675,000 plastic parts daily across both locations. Management also expects a challenging environment in 2026 but believes Weiss Kunststoffverarbeitung is well-positioned. As a family-run, financially independent company with long-standing customer relationships and experience in complex processing operations, Weiss remains confident about its future development despite the ongoing challenges.
