The Gabriel-Chemie Group is expanding its international presence and will open a new sales and logistics site in Nairobi, Kenya, in spring 2026. With this move, the company is purposefully strengthening its activities in the sub-Saharan region, responding to the dynamic market growth in the African plastics and packaging sector, for which annual growth rates of five to seven percent are forecast. The new site is designed as a regional hub for sales, technical consulting, and supply-chain activities. The aim is to shorten delivery times, intensify local customer support, and improve market access in East and Central Africa. The structure will be complemented by international cooperation, including partnerships with companies in India, to increase product availability and create competitive framework conditions. According to the company, Nairobi is set to play a central role in regional market development. Proximity to customers and markets is expected to enable stronger adaptation to local requirements and to promote integration into existing value chains. The Gabriel-Chemie Group views the African market as a strategically important long-term growth region and emphasizes the region’s significance for the company’s further international development. With its expansion into Africa, the company is continuing its global growth strategy while strengthening its presence outside Europe. Gabriel-Chemie specializes in coloring and enhancing plastics. Founded in 1950, the privately owned company is headquartered in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria, and is one of Europe’s largest masterbatch manufacturers, with subsidiaries in several European countries as well as in Kenya.
