Avient Corporation has expanded its portfolio of recycled polyamide materials with the "Nymax" REC 6000 High Impact Series. The new product line includes impact-modified PA formulations aimed at manufacturers seeking high-performance materials with a reduced environmental footprint. The "Nymax" REC 6000 High Impact Series consists of a total of 22 grades. These include eight unfilled qualities and 14 glass-fiber-reinforced variants with a glass fiber content of up to 30 percent. The proportion of post-industrial recycled (PIR) content ranges between 42 and 93 percent, depending on the grade. The goal is to support sustainability requirements without having to compromise on mechanical properties such as impact strength, fatigue strength, or dimensional stability. The individual formulations are designed for different temperature ranges and requirement profiles. According to the company, the materials achieve performance levels comparable to those of virgin resins. To evaluate the environmental impact, Avient provides a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculator that is TÜV-certified and complies with the ISO 14067 standard. Based on this, CO2 footprint reductions of up to 83 percent can be demonstrated compared to corresponding virgin grades. The new materials are intended for applications in the automotive industry, construction, and consumer goods, among others. According to the company, the "Nymax" REC 6000 High Impact Series is available worldwide. More information: www.avient.com |
