Lubrizol: Expansion of TPU Distribution Partnership with Bjørn Thorsen to Germany and Hungary

Lubrizol and the Danish distributor Bjørn Thorsen A/S have expanded their existing distribution partnership for thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) to include the markets in Germany and Hungary. Bjørn Thorsen, which already acts as a distribution partner for Lubrizol TPU in the Nordic and Baltic countries as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland, will now take on additional responsibilities in key Central European markets.

Under the expanded agreement, Bjørn Thorsen will be responsible for the distribution of Lubrizol’s entire TPU portfolio in Germany and Hungary. In addition to marketing activities, the cooperation also includes technical consulting as well as application-specific development work for regional customers. The portfolio includes, among others, the TPU brand “Estane” for various industrial applications, “Pearlstick” TPU for solvent-based adhesives, and “Pearlbond” TPU for hot-melt adhesives and reactive hot-melt systems. In addition, Bjørn Thorsen provides technical support and application-related consulting and also develops its own TPE compounds.

The expansion of the partnership is intended to improve product availability in both markets. According to the companies, customers are expected to benefit in particular from shorter delivery times, a stable supply, and consistent traceability and documentation. Distribution will be organized via Bjørn Thorsen’s Central European warehouse.

Bjørn Thorsen sees this as an opportunity to further expand its portfolio of TPE solutions and to provide stronger local support to customers in Germany and Hungary.
