Schütz Vasitex: Acquisition of Brazilian Industrial Packaging Specialist Carmocal

Schütz Vasitex is strengthening its presence in the South American market through the acquisition of Carmocal do Brasil. With this acquisition, the company is expanding its offering in the Brazilian market to include industrial packaging management services. Carmocal will continue to operate as an independent unit within Schütz Vasitex.

Carmocal has been active in Brazil for more than 25 years and is established in the market as a provider of services related to industrial packaging. Its service portfolio includes rental and fleet management, cleaning and inspection, sales, and special packaging programs for Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), among other services. The company is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

In addition to the operating sites in Brazil, the transaction also includes the right to use the national “Carmocal” brand. Existing business operations and relationships with business partners are to be continued. Both companies will initially operate independently of one another. The transition will be supported by a structured integration process focused on business continuity and service quality.

Schütz Vasitex is a joint venture that combines Schütz’s production and service expertise with Vasitex’s local market and industry expertise. Vasitex is one of Brazil’s leading companies in the manufacture, reconditioning, and recycling of blow-moulded plastic containers and has more than 50 years of experience in the packaging industry.

Schütz Vasitex employs more than 400 people and operates seven production and service facilities in Guarulhos near São Paulo and in Camaçari in the state of Bahia. The sites cover a total area of more than 115,000 square metres. The portfolio includes IBCs, PE drums, and jerrycans. Since the plant expansion in 2023, Schütz Vasitex has also been producing packaging from the “Green Layer” series, which uses high-quality recycled plastic in the middle layer.
