Renolit: Detailed planning begins for site consolidation in Worms

One year after announcing the consolidation of its Worms and Frankenthal sites, Renolit has completed the concept phase and started detailed planning for the expansion of its Worms plant. The project is one of the largest investments in the company’s history and is intended to consolidate production capacities in Worms while securing the company’s long-term competitiveness in Germany.

Plans include the expansion of a production building, the construction of a new finished-goods warehouse and a raw-materials warehouse, as well as additional social, office and parking facilities. Initial preparatory construction work is scheduled to begin in 2026. Detailed planning for buildings, processes and machinery is expected to be completed by summer 2026; building applications are planned for the second half of 2026.

Several new lines are to be installed in the new production building. Initial commissioning is planned for 2028, which will also mark the start of the gradual transfer of production from Frankenthal to Worms. Renolit has reaffirmed that all employees from Frankenthal will be offered a position in Worms.

The investment volume is expected to amount to around EUR 130 million. Of this, approximately EUR 55 million will be allocated to buildings and around EUR 75 million to production and automation technology. Production volume in Worms is set to increase from currently around 24,000 tonnes to 38,000 tonnes per year in the future.

In parallel, Renolit is planning its own wind farm in Worms. The project is intended to cover the expanded site’s rising energy demand, support the electrification of production and reduce the use of fossil fuels. With this project, Renolit is underlining its long-term commitment to Germany as a business location and to Worms as its headquarters.
