Econ: Friedrich Rechberger takes over management and is set to drive international expansion

Econ GmbH has appointed Ing. Friedrich Rechberger, MBA, as Managing Director effective June 3, 2026. The Upper Austrian company, based in Weißkirchen an der Traun, aims to further strengthen its international orientation and prepare for its next phase of growth.

Rechberger has more than 30 years of international experience in business development, sales and customer care. In previous roles at industrial companies, he was particularly involved in building and further developing international business structures. At Econ, he had already been involved as an external consultant and sparring partner in establishing Econ Inc. in the USA.

With his appointment to the management board, Econ primarily aims to further expand its international development and customer-focused core areas. The company specializes in pelletizing systems for plastics processing and reported total revenue of more than EUR 34 million for 2025. In 2023, revenue had stood at EUR 28.3 million.

Another step in its internationalization is planned for August 2026, when the new sales, service and production subsidiary Econ Brazil is scheduled to begin operations in Antônio Carlos in the state of Santa Catarina. In addition to Brazil, Econ already has locations in the USA, China and India. The technological development center will remain in Austria.

With the expanded management team, the expansion of its international site network and its technological specialization, Econ aims to further consolidate its position as a provider of pelletizing solutions for plastics processing.
