Salzgitter: Sale of Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH

Salzgitter AG is selling Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH to the German-French industrial group Name & Mawi Partners S.A.S. (NMP). The transaction forms part of the company’s active portfolio management and the continued implementation of its “Salzgitter AG 2030” corporate strategy. Subject to the customary closing conditions, completion is expected in autumn 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

According to Salzgitter AG, the decision follows a strategic review of the investment. The selection of the buyer was guided by the so-called best-owner principle, under which a company should be transferred to an owner capable of providing the appropriate conditions for its long-term industrial and economic development.

Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH is currently part of the Salzgitter Group’s Technology Business Unit. Through the sale, the Group is continuing the realignment of its investment portfolio. At the same time, the company is to be developed independently under the ownership of NMP.

With the acquisition, NMP primarily aims to expand its production capacities and international sales network. The industrial group sees operational and sales-related synergies between its existing companies and Desma Elastomertechnik. NMP expects growth potential particularly in the US, Indian and Chinese markets.

The German-French NMP Group is headquartered in Weil der Stadt near Stuttgart and in Strasbourg. It comprises ten companies employing a total of around 500 people in Germany, France, Switzerland and Slovakia. The Group specialises in machinery and technologies for splitting and sharpening soft materials. Its equipment is used in industries including leather, rubber, footwear and packaging. The origins of its industrial activities date back to 1903.

Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH, headquartered in Fridingen an der Donau, has been developing and manufacturing injection-moulding machines for processing rubber and silicone since 1965. The company employs more than 500 people worldwide.

Its portfolio includes complete production solutions, such as injection-moulding machines, mould and cold-runner systems, and customised automation equipment. Its technology is used in sectors including automotive manufacturing, power generation and distribution, raw-material extraction, infrastructure, medical technology and the household-appliance industry.
