MTF Technik: New Solutions for Separation and Automation

MTF Technik Hardy Schürfeld GmbH & Co. KG will present new solutions for the separation of molded parts and sprues as well as for the automated control of various buffer systems at Fakuma 2026. The focus will be on a newly developed segment separation drum and the universally applicable “Multi-Control” control system.

The segment separation drum expands the company’s existing range of separation equipment. It consists of a stainless-steel drum cage fitted with individually configurable segment plates. The plates are produced using 3D printing, allowing them to be adapted to different component geometries and separation tasks.

The manufacturing process also enables complex geometries to be produced cost-effectively. The drum is designed in particular for applications in which molded parts need to be reliably separated from sprues or other components. According to the company, it can also handle demanding separation tasks that previously often required more extensive automation solutions.

Another new product being presented by MTF Technik is the “Multi-Control” control system. It was developed as a standardized control solution for various buffer and distribution systems and features a touch display for operation and parameter setting.

The control system can be used, among other applications, in rotary distribution systems, linear buffers, indexing buffers and carousel storage stations. The changeover of connected containers can be triggered either after a predefined number of parts or at specified time intervals. This allows produced parts to be collected over extended periods and distributed across several containers without the need for manual intervention.

At Fakuma 2026, the “Multi-Control” will be demonstrated together with a screw separator and a distribution flap. In this configuration, the screw separator first separates the conveyed material. The flap then automatically distributes the material flow between two containers. The control system coordinates the container changeover and the distribution of the parts.
