Econ: Subsidiary Opened in Brazil

On August 25, 2026, Econ GmbH opened a new sales, service, and production subsidiary in Antônio Carlos in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. With “Econ Brasil,” the Austrian manufacturer of pelletizing systems is expanding its international network and strengthening its presence in the South American plastics market.

The new location brings together sales, service, assembly, and logistics. Spare parts and machine assemblies will now be stocked in Brazil, which is expected to shorten response times, particularly for maintenance and service calls. At the same time, the subsidiary will serve as a local base for handling plant projects in South America.

Econ sees the Brazilian compounding market as a key area of focus. The company’s pelletizing systems are used for applications including compounding, masterbatch production, and recycling, and are also designed for highly filled and temperature-sensitive polymers.

Dominik Kline will head “Econ Brasil” as CEO. According to the company, he has international management experience as well as extensive knowledge of the Brazilian and other South American markets.

The site was officially opened by Kline together with Econ founder and CEO Gerhard Hehenberger and Michael Forstner, President and CEO of “Econ USA.” Immediately afterward, the company is exhibiting at “Interplast 2026” in Joinville. The plastics trade fair takes place from August 25 to 28, with Econ exhibiting in Hall 1 at booth R14.

With the addition of Brazil, Econ now has its own locations in the United States, China, India, and South America. Development and production of its patented core technologies will remain at the company’s headquarters in Weißkirchen an der Traun, Austria. According to the company, exports account for around 92 percent of its sales.
