Barlog Plastics GmbH is expanding its material portfolio with high-temperature compounds from the “Kebapeak 9000” product range. Based on polyetherketoneketone (PEKK), the materials are designed to enable the production of thermoplastic components for applications involving high thermal and mechanical loads. The range will be presented at Fakuma 2026.

According to the company, the semi-crystalline compounds achieve a heat deflection temperature of up to 385°C. They combine high continuous service temperatures and strength with dimensional stability as well as favorable friction and wear properties. The high degree of crystallinity is intended to increase mechanical load-bearing capacity and reduce wear under high surface pressures. Barlog also cites resistance to aging and flame-retardant properties as characteristics of the materials.

The compounder identifies potential applications in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors, the electrical and electronics industry, household appliances, and the oil and gas industry. Other target markets include the defense, aerospace, and aviation industries. The focus is on components permanently exposed to high temperatures, mechanical loads, or tribological stresses.

At Fakuma, Barlog Plastics will also showcase PFAS-free plain-bearing materials and recycled-content compounds from its “Keballoy Eco” portfolio. Other exhibits will include the “Eco-Calculator” for assessing and optimizing the carbon footprint of plastic components, metal-replacement solutions, and rapid-tooling services for prototypes, pre-production runs, and small series.
