Ter Plastics expands micronized polymer powder capacity in Poland and Spain

Ter Plastics Distribution is expanding production capacity for its “Termicron” micronized polymer powders in Poland and Spain, while also reorganizing its materials portfolio for rotational molding applications.

The additional capacity is intended to strengthen the company’s European supply base for polymer powders used in rotational molding. Ter Plastics has not disclosed investment figures, the scale of the expansion or planned production volumes.

“Termicron” powders are used in applications including tanks and industrial containers, automotive components, agricultural and horticultural products, consumer goods and design-focused plastic parts.

Portfolio aligned with application requirements
As part of the reorganization, the company is structuring the portfolio by material group, performance profile and application. Depending on the grade, available properties include different combinations of flowability, stiffness, impact resistance, UV stabilization, heat resistance and surface quality.

The revised structure is designed to simplify material selection for specific part and processing requirements, particularly for large or geometrically complex hollow components.

Materials for rotational molding
Rotational molding involves heating polymer powder inside a rotating mold until the material melts and coats the mold surface. The process is commonly used for seamless hollow parts and can accommodate complex geometries, double-wall designs, multilayer structures and integrated plastic or metal inserts.

It can also reduce material waste compared with machining or multi-stage production processes.

Support through to series production
Ter Plastics Distribution also provides technical support for material selection and application development. According to the company, this includes application assessment, grade selection and support during the transition to series production.
