Syensqo: Specialty polymers for a wide range of processing technologies

At Fakuma 2026, Syensqo will showcase a broad portfolio of specialty polymers for applications in automotive, data centers, construction and heating systems, consumer goods, food-contact applications and precision electronics. The company is focusing on materials tailored to a wide range of processing technologies, including extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, machining and laser welding.

Automotive applications from electric motors to thermal management
For electric, hybrid and internal combustion engine vehicles, Syensqo is targeting applications in electrical insulation, power electronics and thermal management. For electric motors, "KetaSpire" PEEK can be extruded directly onto magnet wire conductors. The company is also presenting "Ajedium" films and extruded profiles for slot insulation, along with "Ryton" Supreme HF for thin-wall injection-molded bobbins and resolver components.

For 800 V power modules, "Amodel" PPA Bios is designed for miniaturized injection-molded components requiring high dimensional stability, thermal resistance and reliable electrical performance. Syensqo is also offering "Ryton" PPS Orange for busbars. The material can be processed by extrusion or injection molding, while its integrated orange coloration eliminates the need for a separate coloring step.

In thermal management applications, Syensqo highlights "Ryton" PPS XE for extruded and laser-welded coolant lines, connectors and brackets. "Amodel" PPA is also used in an injection-molded guide ring and a delivery tube for automatic transmission fluid. The solution, developed for an innovative stator cooling concept, received an Altair Enlighten Award in 2025 and was named a finalist in the 2026 PACE Awards. According to Syensqo, it delivers a 47 percent weight reduction and 36 percent cost savings compared with conventional metal solutions.

Materials for data centers and electronics
Syensqo sees similar material requirements emerging in AI data centers, where increasing power densities and more compact designs are driving demand for high heat resistance, dimensional stability and electrical reliability. Its portfolio includes "Amodel" PPA and "Ryton" PPS for capacitor housings, "Omnix" HPPA for high-precision DDR5 connectors, and "Halar" ECTFE, "Ryton" PPS and "Ixef" PARA for connection and electrical protection applications.

Additional applications and recycled content
Beyond automotive and electronics, Syensqo is presenting "Ryton" PPS for blow-molded, thermoformed and machined pipes and water lines used in construction and heat pump systems. In consumer goods, "Omnix" HPPA 1030 ECHO RPRF, containing 98 percent recycled material, is used in injection-molded components for the "woom WOW" self-balancing toddler bike.

For food-contact applications, Syensqo is highlighting high-purity "Duradex" PPSU ECHO. According to the company, the material is produced using 38 percent certified circular feedstock, allocated through a mass-balance approach and verified under the ISCC Plus system. Syensqo is also showing water-based, ultrafine "Radel" PPSU coatings for metal surfaces used in non-stick cookware.

For precision electronics, the portfolio includes high-performance polymers for micro-injection-molded components with extremely small dimensions and tight production tolerances.

Application development and material validation
Syensqo supports its material portfolio with laboratory and application engineering capabilities covering material and process selection, component design, testing, validation and production preparation. Through its "ECHO" portfolio, the company offers material grades with a higher share of circular feedstocks. According to Syensqo, these grades provide comparable performance and specification profiles, helping to minimize the need for extensive revalidation.
