On 16 October 2026, Plastics Europe Deutschland, together with Messe Friedrichshafen, is organising guided tours of Fakuma 2026 for school pupils, apprentices and university students. The programme is part of Career Friday and aims to provide insights into technologies, training opportunities and careers across the plastics value chain and circular economy. The "Guided Tours" visit selected exhibitors and cover the development, processing and recycling of plastics. Topics include circular packaging, recycling technologies and plastics applications in mobility, energy and medical technology. At the exhibition stands, participants can discuss technical applications, apprenticeships, degree programmes and career paths with apprentices, specialists and company representatives. The German Association of Tool and Mould Makers, TecPart, Innonet Kunststoff and Azo are supporting the tours by providing guides. The programme builds on topics covered at Plastics Europe Deutschland's innovation press conference, where companies presented material developments, recycling processes and circular product solutions. The format was previously offered at Fakuma 2024 under the theme "From granules to products and back again". According to the association, more than 400 school pupils took part at the time. By running the programme again, the organisers aim to foster contact between young talent and companies and help attract skilled workers to the plastics industry.
