Febo: New Engineering Plastics Company Established in Morocco

The Italian Febo Group is expanding its presence in Morocco. With the establishment of Febo E&R Polymers SARL in the Tangier Free Zone, the polymer distributor has set up a company specializing in engineering plastics and high-performance polymers. In addition to supplying materials, the company plans to offer technical consulting and application-specific support. Its target sectors include the automotive, electrical and electronics industries, as well as manufacturers of lighting equipment and household appliances.

Tangier as a Hub for Regional Distribution
The new location is intended to improve access to customers and industrial clusters in Morocco and serve as a hub for business between Europe and Africa. Tangier's free trade zones, industrial infrastructure and the Tanger Med port complex provide key logistical advantages. The company did not disclose specific details regarding the investment volume, the number of new jobs or planned warehouse capacities.

The group cites the growth of Morocco's industrial sector as the economic backdrop for its expansion. According to figures referenced in the company's announcement, the country's exports reached 260.4 billion Moroccan dirhams (MAD) in the first half of 2026, representing an increase of 9.7% compared with the same period of the previous year. Automotive exports rose by 17.4%, while the aerospace industry recorded growth of 15.9% in the first four months of 2026.

Expansion Beyond the Existing Commodity Polymer Business
Febo is already active in Morocco through its stake in Fnegoce, a distributor based in Casablanca. Until now, its activities there have primarily focused on trading commodity polymers. The collaboration with Fnegoce is set to continue. The new company in Tangier will expand the group's activities to include engineering plastics for more demanding industrial applications.
