The Plastics Industry Association has announced a total of 125 exhibitors from across the bioplastics value chain for the NPE 2027 plastics trade show. According to the organizer, this already exceeds participation at the 2024 edition. The figure is as of September 2026. With exhibition space still available, the association expects further registrations. The show will take place from May 3 to 7, 2027, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA. For the event as a whole, the association expects more than 51,000 attendees and 2,200 exhibitors from over 130 countries. The exhibitor lineup includes polymer manufacturers, materials developers, machinery and equipment manufacturers, additive suppliers, distributors, and recycling companies. The focus is on linking materials development with industrial processing. Application areas include packaging, consumer goods, automotive manufacturing, medical technology, agriculture, and construction. On the materials side, exhibits will include biobased polymers and plastics with renewable feedstock content. Materials listed include polylactide (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA), polyamides, thermoplastic elastomers, and cellulose-based materials. The range also includes biodegradable and compostable plastic raw materials, compounds, masterbatches, colorants, and functional additives. The processing technologies announced for the show range from compounding, extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming to drying, conveying, and material handling. Processes for the recovery and reprocessing of plastics, along with end-of-life approaches, are also set to be presented. Bioplastics will be represented in several exhibition areas, including the "Materials Zone" and the "Recycling & Sustainability Zone". Planned new additions include the "Sustainability Park" for practical applications and the "Sustainability Stage" with presentations on materials, product design, material properties, and the circular economy.
