DSM Engineering Plastics (www.dsmep.com) has announced a price increase for its Akulon® polyamide 6 polymers. Effective May 1st, 2009, or as contracts permit, all shipments in Europe will be increased by EUR 70 per metric ton. Richard Pieters, Global Business Manager at DSM Engineering Plastics says: "DSM EP is faced with the rising cost of the chemicals that are used to manufacture Caprolactam, our key feedstock for Polyamide. However, despite this necessary step in a challenging business environment, DSM Engineering Plastics remains fully commited to its long-term relationship with key customers and providing high quality products and services. We will continue to fund investments in innovation, new products and new technology development for our customers - as we set out to retain our position as a sustainable partner within the performance materials industry." |
