The transfer of business of the insolvent Trevira Group (www.trevira.de) to the new owners, Stefan Messer and Dr. Karl-Gerhard Seifert, will take place on 1st November 2009. This means the sale agreed on 5th August of the production sites in Bobingen, Guben and Zielona Gora (Poland), together with the sales site in Hattersheim and certain other sales offices, will finally become effective at this point. In addition, all registered designs and patents of the Trevira Group constitute elements of the sale. The date of the business transfer was originally envisaged for 1st October 2009, but it has not been possible to effect this, since it requires the agreement of various European anti-trust authorities. This could not be achieved in the short space of time. Financing the sale is not affected by the delay. For some time a positive continuation report has been to hand, indicating very good prospects for the company in the market. “We have agreed a new date that permits a careful development of the required measures“, explained Werner Schneider, certified accountant and insolvency administrator of the Trevira Group. In August staffing adjustments required for conclusion of the sale were completed, so that the number of employees in the new Trevira at transfer will be in line with the permanent staff taken over by the new owners, numbering some 1,450. Colleagues of Trevira GmbH losing their jobs have had the opportunity to move to a transfer company, where they can gain further qualifications for eight months and hopefully proceed to new employment. |
