The Universal Mixers, Type USMk, of the company Kreyenborg GmbH (www.kreyenborg.de) are used with great success in various extrusion lines for the homogenisation of production wastes. When producing films, nonwoven or coatings there arise edge trims or other production wastes during the different production steps. From ecological and economic point of view it is very reasonable to directly grind this waste and refeed it to the extrusion process. However the recycling of the production, even if they are ground very fine, are partly still very light in the bulk density and –above all – bridging and badly flowing. The Universal Mixer with a net volume of 120 dm³ (picture) is therefore applied for the homogenisation and blending with virgin material. This blend then shows approximately the same bulk density and flow properties as pellets. Sowith the volumetric or graphimetric dosing systems and extruder inlet zones, which are standardly existing, may be further used without modification for the process sure fabrication. Depending on the product features, up to 30 % of the production wastes may be refed again. The electric control makes possible a continuous operation of the mixer. The pneumatically operated flap beneath the bin opens and locks, according to the requirement signal of the downstreamed dosing to the extruder. The supply of the different products is controlled and kept constantly by two hight adjustable level sensors in the upper region of the cylinder. Maintenance flaps in the cone and lid make a quick cleaning of the system in case of product change possible. K'2004, Düsseldorf, 20.-27.10.2004, Hall 9 Stand 56 |
