The Starlinger "recoStar PET 215 HC iV+" PET bottle-to-bottle recycling system installed at Alpha Ecoplast’s new recycling facility near Kosamba, Gujarat, has a production capacity of more than 21,000 tons of super-clean, bottle-grade rPET per year - (Picture: Alpha Ecoplast). The recoStar PET 215 HC iV+ is equipped with the largest single extruder from Starlinger and produces up to 2,700 kilograms of bottle-grade pellets per hour. The PET bottle-to-bottle recycling line is equipped with a pre-drying unit, high vacuum degassing, a continuous filter system and underwater pelletizing. The “viscoStar” SSP reactor installed at the end of the recycling process further increases the viscosity and the level of decontamination of the pellets produced. The entire recycling process is based on the FIFO principle, which, according to the supplier, ensures excellent decontamination of each bottle flake from the beginning to the end of the recycling process, thus guaranteeing the food contact compliance of the recycled pellets. Like all Starlinger recycling systems, the recoStar PET 215 HC iV+ is characterized by low energy consumption, high production efficiency and user-friendliness. The rPET pellets produced on Starlinger's recoStar PET recycling lines have been approved by national and international authorities such as the FDA (USA) and EFSA (EU), as well as by major brand owners in the food and beverage sector, for food contact applications. Alpha Ecoplast recycles PET bottles collected in the country and produces both bottle-grade rPET pellets and rPET flakes suitable for food packaging, which it supplies to the Indian and international markets. To meet the rapidly growing demand, Alpha Ecoplast has reportedly already ordered a second Starlinger PET bottle-to-bottle recycling line of the same size. About Alpha Group Established in 1980, Alpha Group is recognized as a leading provider of rigid and flexible plastic packaging solutions in India, with a production capacity of more than seven million PET bottle preforms per day. In 2022, the subsidiary Alpha Ecoplast Pvt. Lt. was established to meet the demand for bottle-to-bottle recycling and recycled plastics in the Indian market. The recycling plant was commissioned in August 2024 and has a total capacity of more than three billion plastic bottles per year. Alpha Ecoplast also supplies deodorized recycled PE and PP for injection molding, films, bottles and other applications. More information: alphaecoplast.com, www.starlinger.com |
