Jet Investment: Acquisition of Polish plastics processor Plastiwell

The Czech investment group Jet Investment has acquired the Polish plastics processor Plastiwell International.

Jet Investment announced in June that its private equity fund Jet 3 had acquired a majority stake in Plastiwell. The remaining shares in the company will continue to be controlled by Plastiwell CEO Marcin Wysocki. No details of the financial terms of the transaction have been disclosed. However, according to media reports, Jet has acquired a 65 per cent stake in Plastiwell.

Plastiwell International, based in Myślenice, south of Kraków, manufactures plastic components for international customers in the automotive sector and other industries. The group comprises the subsidiaries Polplast in Myślenice, TMR Plastics in Bydgoszcz and Tarnwell Polska in Tarnów. Plastiwell International employs a total of around 1,000 people and generated sales of approximately €100 million in the 2024 financial year.

Plastiwell intends to continue growing under the umbrella of Jet Investment. CEO Wysocki said: ‘Thanks to the cooperation with Jet Investment, we can accelerate our expansion, tap into new market segments and expand the geographical reach of our activities, including through acquisitions of other companies.’

Marek Chłopek, Jet Investment's head of Poland, explained: ‘Europe is redefining its approach to plastic packaging, and the importance of this material in industry is growing significantly. With the development of new materials and new technologies for manufacturing and recycling, plastic is increasingly replacing metal. As a leading company in this sector in Central and Eastern Europe, Plastiwell has the opportunity to take advantage of these trends and tap into new market segments.’

Jet Investment is based in Brno and has also had a branch in Poland since 2023. Through its funds, the group has held and continues to hold stakes in numerous companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States. In the plastics sector, its portfolio includes a stake in the German prepreg manufacturer Fiberpreg.
