Starlinger: STP Machinery India established for PP tape extrusion lines

Austrian machinery manufacturer Starlinger is expanding its presence in India with the founding of STP Machinery India Pvt. Ltd. The new company, headquartered in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, will officially open in early February 2026, just before the Plastindia plastics trade fair.

STP Machinery India is part of the Starlinger Group and specializes in the manufacture of PP tape extrusion lines for the production of plastic woven bags. The lines are developed specifically for the Indian market and produced at the newly built factory, which currently employs more than 30 people. CEO Norbert Wirth will head the company.

In addition to local equipment manufacturing and sales, a key focus is on services and ensuring high machine availability. STP Machinery India acts as a service hub for Starlinger lines installed in India, offering spare parts and technical support for both its own machines and existing Starlinger systems. The aim is to achieve shorter delivery times and rapid on-site technical support.

Starlinger has been active in India since the 1980s and has maintained an office in New Delhi for about 25 years. With the additional production site in Ahmedabad, the commitment to the Indian market is being further expanded, enabling the direct supply of modern extrusion technology.

Products include PP extrusion lines from the TE1600 series. These are designed for the production of tapes for standard woven bags, AD*STAR block bottom valve bags, big bags, and other woven applications. The lines reach an output of up to 600 kg/h at a production speed of 450 m/min.

The official opening of STP Machinery India will take place on February 2, 2026, followed by an open house on February 3. From February 5 to 10, 2026, the company will exhibit together with Starlinger at Plastindia in New Delhi.
