Erema and Lindner Washtech have expanded their joint presence in the Indian plastic recycling market with the founding of Erema India. The new sales and service subsidiary was officially opened on February 6, 2026, during the Plast India trade fair in New Delhi. The goal is to meet the growing demand for high-quality mechanical recycling solutions with local competence and pooled systems expertise.

Erema India is part of the Erema Group and brings together Erema's extrusion technologies with Lindner Washtech's washing technologies under one organizational roof. This is based on a long-standing partnership between the two companies. The new company is intended to provide Indian recycling companies with faster access to technologies for the entire process chain – from bales to regranulate – as well as local technical support and spare parts availability. Deepak Mehta, who can look back on more than two decades of cooperation with the Erema Group, was appointed Managing Director of Erema India.

The Indian market for plastic recycling is growing dynamically. Population growth, rising consumption, and the expansion of regulatory requirements for the circular economy are increasing the need for high-performance recycling solutions and high-quality recyclates. According to OECD forecasts, plastic consumption in India will increase significantly by 2060. At the same time, stricter regulations on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and investments in collection and sorting systems are driving the expansion of recycling capacities. Numerous new plants are planned by 2026, particularly in bottle-to-bottle recycling.

With Erema India, Indian recyclers gain access to integrated European washing, extrusion, and decontamination technologies. The coordinated process chains are designed for high throughputs and consistent recyclate qualities and are intended to meet international requirements, such as for food-contact applications. The technologies are complemented by a local service team that ensures commissioning, maintenance, and after-sales services. For standardized applications, Erema India also offers immediately available plant concepts such as ReadyMac and ReadyWash.

The new company has two locations. In Vadodara, in the state of Gujarat, there is a customer center alongside the sales office where customers can carry out material tests and trials under practical conditions. Among other things, a ReadyMac HD recycling machine with a laser filter and laboratory equipment for material analysis are provided there. Another sales and service office in Mumbai strengthens customer support, particularly in western and southern India.

With the founding of Erema India, Erema and Lindner Washtech are merging their previous activities and local teams, creating an organizational structure geared toward the growing requirements of the Indian recycling market.
