The Upper Austrian mold maker Haidlmair is taking over the Traun-based company TFM – Technologie für Metallbearbeitung GmbH. With this acquisition, the company is expanding its production capacities and closing a strategic gap in the field of smaller injection molds.

TFM has been active in the field of metal processing and toolmaking since 1996 and possesses expertise in design, prototype production, mold and tool construction, as well as in series and contract manufacturing of metal components. Furthermore, the company offers specialized processes such as laser texturing. In addition to its own tool production, TFM has been established for years as a partner in CNC contract manufacturing.

Advert

Within the Haidlmair Group, TFM will in future handle the production of injection molds up to a weight of five tons. The company thus complements Haidlmair's previous portfolio, which until now has focused on larger tool dimensions up to a total weight of 120 tons. The integration is intended in particular to strengthen the areas of CNC machining as well as wire and die-sink EDM.

According to the information provided, the Traun location will be retained, and the existing customer and partner structure is also to be continued. The previous contact persons and structures will remain largely unchanged. In return, TFM will gain access to the technological resources and the international network of the corporate group.

Haidlmair, headquartered in Nußbach, has specialized for more than 45 years in high-performance injection molds for applications in the packaging, logistics, and waste management sectors, including beverage crates, collapsible boxes, plastic pallets, and recycling containers. The company employs over 310 people at the Nußbach site. The corporate group comprises a total of eleven companies in five countries with around 550 employees.
