Budenheim has completed the integration of the Dutch masterbatch specialist QolorTech. As a result, the specialty chemicals company is consolidating additive chemistry, masterbatch formulation and application testing at its Global Application Center for Polymers in Vaassen, located in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The move is part of the expansion of its global polymer business. QolorTech, acquired in 2020, brings more than 40 years of experience in color, black, white and additive masterbatches, as well as expertise in recyclable formulations. This is complemented by compounding facilities and application laboratories that further strengthen Budenheim’s polymer capabilities. In Vaassen, the development, validation and qualification of customized formulations are being brought together at a single site. According to the company, this will enable shorter development cycles, a broader portfolio of additives and functional masterbatches, and bundled technical services. Support for regulatory and sustainability-related requirements is also part of the offering. The center is also expected to accelerate development in areas such as laser marking, endothermic foaming, polymerization control and conductive masterbatches. Budenheim is thereby further aligning its polymer activities with regulated and sustainability-driven markets. The focus is on recyclable, NIR-sortable and lightweight formulations. Budenheim operates internationally and employs more than 1,350 people. According to the company, its annual revenue amounts to several hundred million euros. More information: www.budenheim.com |
