As part of the restructuring of the insolvent HydroDyn Recycling, key core areas of the company as well as extensive intellectual property rights have been acquired by a consortium of company founders and investors. Going forward, the activities will be continued under the umbrella of Circular Projects Holding in the newly aligned HydroDyn Systems. HydroDyn develops cleaning and purifying system solutions for processing heavily contaminated plastic waste, particularly packaging plastics and film waste. The systems are based on the globally patented “HydroCleaner” technology and are designed for challenging plastic waste streams from EPR collections. The aim is to process these material streams with high yield into high-quality polymer raw materials. According to a press release, the new HydroDyn Systems will focus on the marketing of industrial plastic washing plants as well as the associated services and licensing models. The realignment also includes the optimization of manufacturing processes. In addition, cooperation with EPC system integrators is to be expanded in order to implement industrial-scale projects more efficiently. The strategic development is driven by the expected increase in demand for economically efficient systems for producing high-quality recyclates and polymer raw materials. This development is linked, among other things, to regulatory requirements arising from the European PPWR regulation, which is likely to further increase the need for high-performance processing technologies for plastic waste.
