TMA Automation: Engel subsidiary consolidates development, assembly and project management at new site in Gdańsk

TMA Automation Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of the Engel Group, has opened a new corporate headquarters with a production site in Gdańsk. The location is intended to support the implementation of larger automation projects for plastics processing as well as stand-alone robotics solutions. Development, assembly and project management will be brought into closer alignment there.

The company was founded in 2010 and was previously based in a technology park in Gdynia. TMA Automation most recently employed around 40 people there. According to the management, the new site offers improved conditions for project execution and organisational development, as well as reserves for further growth.

Within the Engel Group, TMA Automation complements the existing automation activities, particularly in the areas of in-mould labelling, side-entry robots, and assembly and testing automation. At the same time, the company is intended to strengthen the group’s regional presence in Poland and Eastern Europe. The cited advantages include proximity to customers, local language and market expertise, flexible project implementation, and direct project handling.

In addition to the Polish and Eastern European markets, TMA Automation is expected to become more closely involved in international automation projects of the Engel Group in the future. The new corporate headquarters in Gdańsk provides the infrastructural basis for this and is intended to expand the link between local market presence and the Engel Group’s international activities.
