GreenDot: Acquisition of Anviplas Spain Increases LDPE Recycling Capacity to 175,000 Tonnes per Year

GreenDot is continuing to expand its European recycling platform by acquiring the Spanish LDPE recycling specialist Anviplas, based in Navarcles, Catalonia. Following the recent integration of France’s RG Group, this marks the next step in the company’s strategy to build a pan-European infrastructure for high-quality plastic recycling.

With this acquisition, GreenDot is increasing its LDPE film recycling capacity by 30,000 tonnes per year. Anviplas primarily processes post-commercial and post-industrial films and has more than 35 years of experience in LDPE recycling. Founded in 1988, the company employs around 70 people.

Through the integration of Anviplas, GreenDot now operates six mechanical plastic recycling facilities in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. These sites are located in Hörstel and Eisfeld (Germany), Piacenza (Italy), Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons (France), and Navarcles (Spain). The company’s total recycling capacity therefore increases to 175,000 tonnes per year. Its portfolio includes LDPE, HDPE, and PP recyclates.

The acquisition comes against the backdrop of growing demand for high-quality recycled plastics and increasing regulatory requirements across Europe. GreenDot aims to improve the security of supply for recycled plastics, better secure raw material streams, and expand cross-border logistics structures. The integration of the Spanish site is also intended to strengthen the resilience of European supply chains and increase the availability of recyclates produced in Europe.

According to the company, Anviplas’ technical expertise complements GreenDot’s existing network, particularly in the area of high-quality LDPE recyclates. Its location in Catalonia also strengthens the company’s presence in one of Southern Europe’s most important industrial regions.
