Lego: Revenue rises 21 percent to record level in first half of 2026

Danish toy manufacturer Lego generated revenue of DKK 41.9 billion (EUR 5.61 billion) in the first half of 2026. This was 21 percent higher than the DKK 34.6 billion (EUR 4.63 billion) recorded in the same period of the previous year and, according to the company, marked a new record. Adjusted for currency effects, growth amounted to 26 percent. Consumer sales increased by 22 percent. Business performed particularly strongly in North and South America, Western Europe, the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) region, and Asia-Pacific.

As the Lego Group further announced when presenting its half-year results, operating profit increased by 22 percent year on year to DKK 10.9 billion (EUR 1.46 billion). Net profit rose by 32 percent from DKK 6.5 billion (EUR 871 million) to DKK 8.6 billion (EUR 1.15 billion). Operating cash flow increased by 47 percent to DKK 8.6 billion (EUR 1.15 billion), while free cash flow rose from DKK 1.7 billion (EUR 228 million) to DKK 2.1 billion (EUR 281 million).

At the same time, Lego continues to invest in its production capacity. Expenditure on the construction of a new factory as well as the expansion and modernization of existing sites increased to DKK 4.6 billion (EUR 616 million) in the first half of the year, compared with DKK 4.2 billion (EUR 562 million) in the same period of the previous year. According to the company, construction of the new plant and a regional distribution center in the US state of Virginia is progressing according to schedule. Both facilities are due to open in 2027.

In Billund, Lego also opened the 100,000-square-meter “Kornmarken Campus” in June. At the new global manufacturing innovation center, more than 1,800 employees are working on the development, testing and scaling of new manufacturing technologies.

According to the company, the proportion of renewable and recycled raw materials used to manufacture Lego bricks has also been increased. These include certified materials based on the mass balance approach, as well as bio-based PE and chemically recycled MABS for flexible and transparent Lego elements, respectively. The transition to paper-based bags is expected to be completed on the remaining packaging lines by 2027.
