Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA has acquired a majority stake in Italian reconditioning specialist Repack S.r.l., expanding its industrial packaging reconditioning network in Italy to five locations. Repack operates four sites in Cesara, Arzignano, Buscate and Stezzano and has around 30 years of experience in the collection, reconditioning and recycling of industrial plastic packaging. The company also recovers recycled HDPE (r-HDPE) from returned containers for reuse in packaging production, including PE drums. This helps keep materials in circulation and reduces the use of virgin plastics. The investment strengthens Schütz’s capabilities in both open- and closed-loop systems, including reconditioned packaging and customer-specific circular solutions. It also expands the company’s take-back, reuse and recycling activities as the requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) gain importance. With Repack’s four sites in northern Italy and Schütz’s existing presence, the group is strengthening its regional coverage and further expanding its European reconditioning and circular economy network, particularly in Southern Europe.
