robomotion: Modular "flexobot" Robot Cell for Quality Inspection and Downstream Processes in Injection Moulding

robomotion GmbH, based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, is presenting its modular "flexobot" robot cell at Fakuma 2026. Designed for automated processes directly at injection moulding machines, the system can handle the removal and handling of moulded parts as well as assembly, inspection, sorting and packaging operations.

The system is based on a standardised platform that can be configured with application-specific grippers and functional modules. The basic cell is equipped with a six-axis robot and has a depth of approximately one metre in its standard configuration. Interchangeable applications allow the system to be adapted to different components and process steps.

For quality control, moulded parts can be removed directly after injection moulding, visually inspected and sorted according to predefined criteria. With the appropriate equipment, this enables 100% inspection immediately after the production process. The robot cell can also be integrated with existing injection moulding machines and reconfigured for different products or tasks.

Beyond individual robot cells, robomotion has been developing customised automation systems for the plastics industry since 2003. These systems integrate injection moulding machines with feeding technology, assembly and inspection stations, machine vision systems and packaging equipment. The company's range of services extends from the automation of individual process steps to fully integrated, interconnected production lines incorporating existing machinery. At Fakuma 2026, the company is showcasing further solutions for plastics injection moulding alongside "flexobot".
