battenfeld-cincinnati: Multi-Million-Euro Investment in Modernizing Extruder Production in Vienna

On October 21, 2026, extrusion equipment manufacturer battenfeld-cincinnati initiated the next phase of modernization at its Vienna site. According to the company, it is investing several million euros in reorganizing and upgrading production facilities and modernizing the existing administration building. The aim is to improve manufacturing productivity and further develop the site as a production, development and service center within the international group.

Realignment of Production and Infrastructure
Since 2025, manufacturing operations have been undergoing restructuring as part of a lean transformation. Measures include a new production layout, optimized material flows, the integration of a modern machining center and further digitalization of manufacturing and assembly processes. At the same time, the administration building is being modernized. The current construction phase was officially launched at an event on October 21, during which Siegfried Köhler, Managing Director of battenfeld-cincinnati Austria GmbH, presented the modernization plans. Neither the exact investment amount nor a completion date for the work was disclosed.

Competence Center for PVC Extrusion
battenfeld-cincinnati employs around 145 people at its Vienna site. Opened in 1978, the plant specializes in counter-rotating twin-screw extruders for PVC processing, particularly for the production of pipes, profiles and sheets. Within the group, the Vienna site is responsible for the development, production and servicing of this extrusion technology.

battenfeld-cincinnati is part of Davis-Standard Corporation. According to the company, the battenfeld-cincinnati Group employs around 600 people worldwide and operates production sites in Germany, Austria, the United States and China. Its product portfolio includes single- and twin-screw extruders, coextrusion systems, dies, calibration and cooling units, and other downstream equipment.
