OPmobility: Fourth Plant Opened in Morocco for Exterior Body Parts

French automotive supplier OPmobility opened a plant for the production of exterior body parts in Kenitra on 19 October 2026. It is the group's fourth production site in Morocco and its second in Kenitra. The facility will supply a major international automotive manufacturer. According to the company, the expansion will create more than 100 jobs, bringing OPmobility's total workforce in Morocco to more than 1,400 employees.

The new facility is located in the Atlantic Free Zone, close to the company's first plant in Kenitra, which opened in 2018. Production processes, as well as material handling and storage, are largely automated. Its location within the automotive cluster provides direct access to customers, suppliers and logistics service providers. Together, the two plants in Kenitra will employ 510 people. The company did not disclose the investment amount, production capacity or specific manufacturing processes in its announcement.

OPmobility has been present in Morocco since 2013 and now operates two plants each in Kenitra and Tangier. In addition to exterior body parts, its local product portfolio includes lighting and energy storage systems. The expansion is intended to strengthen local supply to international vehicle manufacturers and increase production capacity. According to the company, the investment will also help develop local expertise in manufacturing, maintenance, logistics and quality assurance.

The group operates worldwide in the fields of exterior body and lighting systems, complex vehicle modules, energy storage systems, and battery and hydrogen solutions. OPmobility reported economic revenue of EUR 11.5 billion for 2025. According to its own figures, the company operates 152 plants and 40 research and development centres worldwide and employs approximately 38,100 people.
